Best Travel Bags for International Travel

This article is all about everything travellers need to know about the best travel bags for international travel.

No one wants to turn up at the airport and be told at the check-in point their Carry-on travel bag is not suitable to take on board. My intention, through this post, is to help out so that you can make better-informed decisions to choose the best travel bag for their trip.

Be Prepared!

You may be really excited to have been invited to attend an international conference but you will be disappointed if you travel without making the necessary preparations. I know how challenging it is to find the best suitable travel luggage for your international trip. I have tailored this blog post for you to save you the trouble. All you need to do now is to relax and enjoy a stress-free journey.

International travel involves a journey or several journeys to countries outside your country of residence. Therefore, you need to do your homework to be adequately prepared.

People travel for all sorts of reasons. Some travel to faraway places just to take holiday breaks. While others will be going on Safari trips. The mode of transport that will take you to your destination largely defines the kind of preparations you need to dig deeper into.

Be Prepared – Get The Best Travel Luggage

International Travel involves a number of preparations. To get everything sorted before your departure day, you must prioritise all you need to do.  Attend to the most urgent preparations first, those things you know will consume much of your time.

I prefer to start off by doing some research to unearth certain information about the country I intend to visit. You will be surprised that after doing your research, you will have peace of mind. At least you will know what to pack and expect in your country of visit. If it means the weather will be cold, then you dress accordingly.

I can’t overemphasise the importance of carrying out all the necessary preparations before you embark on your international travel. You never know, you may need to get a vaccine before you go. Certain vaccinations are recommended before you travel to a foreign country. Yet, in other circumstances, vaccines are a must- have.

Travel Vaccination Is Crucial To Your Trip

Why get vaccinated before I hit the road? We do it to protect ourselves and our loved ones from potential health hazards. Some hospitals do offer immunisation services. Some countries require a Visa of entry. So it’s important to find out as early as possible.

It’s equally important that you check with airlines how long you will have to wait for a decision on your visa and the costs involved. Knowing what to expect makes life a lot easier. It brings in an element of excitement into the whole journey. Some kind of having an adventure feeling. Besides Vaccine – What Else?

Aim to buy your ticket at the lowest price so that you are able to carry extra cash with you for any unplanned expenses. Unless you buy your air ticket well in advance, you will not be able to put extra cash aside. Before you buy your ticket, take a look at different airlines. Compare prices in order to get the best deal.

You also need to pay attention to your travel itinerary. For some weird reasons, some journeys are unbearably long and involve multiple stopovers and connections. Carry all your relevant travel documents such as your passport including a photocopy of your passport, just in case you may lose it.

Check with banks or exchange bureaus to find out if cash, a credit card or Cheques are the best options for your travel. Knowing the conversion rate of your currency to foreign currency is helpful. It puts you in the picture of how much you are likely going to spend so that you can plan accordingly. You can also do with a good travel map or a guide for site seeing.

To remember to bring all your travel documents for the country you intend to visit can be quite tricky. To solve this, invent your own Traveler’s Checklist and list every item you need to carry. I personally find domestic travel from point A to point B quite demanding and exhausting. What more international travel? The good news is that travel becomes enjoyable when you know what to expect and then you prepare in advance.

Also, you can make use of Product Reviews that are left behind by customers. They give you insight into the product you intend to purchase. To add, having full knowledge of the various suppliers out there so that you can compare prices will help you to find a good bargain. Also, you need to go an extra mile to get information about luggage requirements that meet baggage specifications for airlines.

The single most important thing you need to know about product reviews

(1) Very often we hear negative comments about product reviews. Bad Reviews are perceived to be bad for business. While this is true, consumers can use bad reviews to their advantage, which will assist them in making informed decisions.

(2) Reviews eliminate any shadow of doubt potential customers may be having a particular product. In a way, pointing them to the right product.

Very informative post! The cabin measurement is really important. As before Ryanair Airlines in Europe scrapped the ‘overweight’ and ‘oversized’ luggage requirement i had to pay an extra 50 euro at the actual gate just to take my only luggage on board, because according to them it was ‘too big’! Well the size requirement is still there but they are not as strict anymore!
The info for luggage on safari thrips was new to me.
    Thank you for sharing.

I have travelled with everything from large rucksacks of 250L to my latest small backpack of only 32 L, also large suitcases. i find with rucksacks it is easier to keep your weight down as you have limited space but they are not good for if you need to get to the bottom of your luggage often. Suitcases are easy as long as they have wheels and if you don’t have to transport them too far between destinations on foot! Happy travels! I look forward to reading some more of your reviews, Kris
